Shopping for an RV can feel overwhelming, but the following buying tips can help!

1.  Determine Your RVing Priorities

The first step is to figure out your priorities.

For example:

  • Do you want an RV that’s easy to drive and maneuver?
  • Do you need a lot of storage space?
  • Are you looking for luxurious amenities?

Once you know what’s most important to you, it will be easier to narrow down your options.

2. Set a Budget

By setting a budget upfront, you can avoid overspending on your RV. Take a look over your finances and determine how much you can spend on a camper purchase.

Don't forget that there are additional costs associated with owning an RV, such as insurance and maintenance. Be sure to include these expenses when building your budget.

3.  Determine Your Ideal RV Size

How big do you want your camper to be? RV size is an important factor to consider, as it will impact both your comfort level and how easy the RV is to transport.

Think about how many people you’ll be RVing with and what kinds of activities you want to do. If you’re planning on doing a lot of cooking and entertaining, for example, you may want a larger RV. But if you’re mostly going to be using your RV for sleeping and storage, a smaller (and more affordable) camper may be a better option.
